AceShowbiz - Drake praises Taylor Swift on his new song. On "Red Button", which arrived on Friday, November 16, the Canadian rap star admitted that the 12-time Grammy winner is the only artist that can make him push back an album release date.
"Taylor Swift the only n***a that I ever rated/ Only one could make me drop the album just a little later," the 37-year-old spits on the tune. "Rest of y'll, I treat y'all like you never made it/ Leave your label devastated / Even when you pad the stats, period, I never hated."
Elsewhere on "Red Button", Drake seemingly hints that his feud with Kanye West is on again. "Every time that Yeezy called a truce, he had my head inflated/ Thinkin' we gon' finally peace it up and get to levitatin'," the emcee spits. "Realize that everything premeditated/ Everyone was good with me, then everyone expression faded/ Tickin' time bomb and they beggin' me to detonate it/ If I press this red button, dog, everybody Heaven Gated."
The song appears on Drake's new EP, "Scary Hours 3", which also dropped on Friday. When announcing the project, he shared a cinematic video on Instagram, in which he stated in a voiceover, "I'll say this to you: I feel no need to appease anybody." He added, "I feel so confident about the body of work that I just dropped. I know I could go disappear for, whatever, six months, a year, two years - even though I'm not really into the super lengthy disappearances for the sake of mystery."
"But, you know, ultimately, it's coming to me in a way that I haven't experienced maybe since, like, 'If You're Reading This,' where I feel like I'm on drugs," he continued. "I feel like I'm in that mental state without doing anything. I did those songs in the last five days. I didn't have one bar written down for those songs on the night that 'For All the Dogs' dropped. It's not like I'm picking up from some unfinished s**t. You know, this is just happening on its own. And who am I to fight it?"
