AceShowbiz - Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez have found themselves in hot water over a new photo. The founder of Amazon and the Emmy Award-winning journalist were blasted for "cosplaying as working class people" after conducting a photoshoot with Vogue.
On Monday, November 13, the 59-year-old businessman and his 53-year-old fiancee were bombarded with criticisms via Instagram. In the comments section of a post featuring the engaged couple's photo, one Instagram user wrote, "BILLIONAIRES COSPLAYING AS WORKING CLASS PEOPLE please… be for real."
Another user reacted took issue with Jeff's arm and asked, "How much did he pay yall to engorge his bicep?" Meanwhile, a third discussed Lauren's look and candidly penned, "One more facelift and her lips will be by her earlobes."
In the meantime, a fourth called out Vogue over its allegedly "tone deaf" post. The commenter wrote, "I think we should be allowed to criticize the things we love. I've been a fan of this publication for a long time. But this is a remarkably unflattering and tone deaf post and the timing is uncanny. Do better Vogue!!!"
Earlier that same day, the official Instagram account of Vogue shared a photo of Jeff and Lauren striking a pose in a vintage car. However, Instagram users noticed that the picture appeared "uncomfortable," "cringe" and "weird."
Jeff, who was wearing a navy blue polo shirt, a pair of blue jeans and a brown cowboy hat, was photographed sitting on the driver seat of the vehicle. He placed one of his hands on his thigh, seemingly attempting to show off his muscular arm.
All the while, Lauren, who donned a sleeveless white tee, a pair of sparkling earrings and a massive diamond ring, was leaning on him. While pressing her cheek to Jeff's, she wrapped her arms around his neck.
Along with the photo, Vogue wrote in the caption of the post, "Much has been made of Jeff Bezoss evolution from online bookseller to Tony Stark titan of industry and the third richest man in the world. Once insular and press-shy, he formed a cocoon around Amazon and his personal life."
"His fiancee, Lauren Sanchez, by all accounts is the perfect partner for it all - unbridled in her enthusiasm but also socially adept, attentive, a diplomat of a kind," Vogue added. " 'Lauren has amazing intuition,' says Bezos. 'She sees things that other people don't see. She's really very sensitive to other people and what they're thinking.' "
