In a first statement issued since he was hospitalized on Tuesday, November 7, the 'Good Burger' star thanks fans for the 'prayers' and informs them that he has been back home.

AceShowbiz - Kel Mitchell has broken his silence on his recent medical emergency. After he was rushed to the hospital for an undisclosed illness, the actor/comedian has shared a positive update on his condition.

Making use of his Instagram page on early Thursday, November 9, he issued a statement to thank his fans for their "prayers" during the "frightening time." He wrote, "Grateful for the flood of prayers and positive vibes that surrounded me during a genuinely frightening time. The scare was real, but so was the support."

The 45-year-old added that he has now returned home. "With the grace of God and the skill of the medical team, I'm now on the road to recovery at home, embraced by the love of my family," he informed his followers. Expressing his gratitude once again, he stressed, "Your kindness has been a lifeline, and I can't thank you enough. Much love to each of you."

Kel left the post captionless and did not share details of what caused his hospitalization, but the comments section has been flooded with messages expressing relief and wishing him speedy recovery. "Glad your better by friend," one person wrote. Another similarly shared, "So glad you're ok! Sending prayers." Someone added, "Praying for healing my friend," while a fourth chimed in, "God Speed on a full & expedited recovery my brother."

Previously, TMZ reported that Kel was taken to a Los Angeles-area hospital on Tuesday night, November 7. He was coming in through the emergency room, but appeared to be conscious and alert when he arrived, an eyewitness told the site. According to the outlet, the "Good Burger" star was still in the hospital getting treatment as of Wednesday.

Kel has been promoting his upcoming movie "Good Burger 2", where he will reprise his role as fast food cashier Ed alongside Kenan Thompson, who returns as Dexter Reed. The movie is scheduled to be released on November 22 on Paramount+.
