AceShowbiz - Congratulations are seemingly in order to Toni Braxton and Birdman. If a new report is to be believed, the "Un-Break My Heart" songstress and her fiance have finally tied the knot.
According to Media Take Out, the 56-year-old and the rapper got married over the summer in a private ceremony in Mexico. The couple's big day was attended by close family and friends, who were reportedly told to keep quiet about the marriage.
A source close to Birdman revealed to the outlet, "Birdman is very private - he doesn't want his business out on social media or on some reality shows." The source added, "[Birdman] wanted to get married and he decided that she was the woman for him, so they did it."
Toni and Birdman began dating in May 2016. Two years later, the lovebirds announced their engagement. They split in early 2019, only to reconcile within weeks.
In April 2020, Toni assured that she and the Cash Money Records co-founder would "definitely" get married within the year. "We've been trying to figure it out, but we are definitely gonna do it this year," she said on "Rick and Sasha Morning Show" about their wedding planning amid the coronavirus pandemic.
"We have been going back and forth on wedding dates. We had a great date but then it was getting too big, we didn't want a big wedding," she went on sharing. "Then we said, 'OK, we don't want it too small.' Then he said, 'OK, let's do the drive through.' I'm like, 'We are not doing a drive through. I'm not ordering fries after we get married, babe.' "
In February 2021, Toni's sister, Tamar Braxton, sparked speculations that the Grammy winner and her fiance had exchanged vows. "@tonibraxton @birdman congratulations love birds," Tamar wrote at the time along with a paparazzi picture of the pair and several emojis. She, however, didn't mention what occasion which deserved the congratulatory post.
Toni and Birdman mostly kept their romance private. However, days before the new report emerged, the singer treated fans to a sweet selfie of her and the rapper. "Sending Sunday kisses," she captioned it, tagging her longtime partner alongside a kiss emoji.
