The 'Barbie' star plays a stuntman who turns into a hero after he is tasked with tracking down a missing movie star and getting involved in a conspiracy in the process.

AceShowbiz - Ryan Gosling is falling hard for Emily Blunt and willing to do anything to woo her in the first trailer for "The Fall Guy". Debuted on Thursday, November 2 by Universal Pictures, the video sees Gosling's Colt Seavers reuniting with his former fling Blunt's Jody Moreno for a new film project.
As sparks fly anew between the former lovebirds, Colt is sent on an important yet dangerous mission to save Jody's movie. He is tasked with finding an A-list actor, Tom Ryder (Aaron Taylor-Johnson a.k.a. Aaron Johnson), who stars in Jody's film and goes missing.
Left with no other option, Colt embarks on a journey that turns him from a stuntman into a hero while hoping to win Jody back. The witty and silly stuntman gets involved in a conspiracy in the process.
According to the official logline, "He's a stuntman, and like everyone in the stunt community, he gets blown up, shot, crashed, thrown through windows and dropped from the highest of heights, all for our entertainment. And now, fresh off an almost career-ending accident, this working-class hero has to track down a missing movie star, solve a conspiracy and try to win back the love of his life while still doing his day job. What could possibly go right?"
It continues to read, "Oscar nominee Ryan Gosling ('Barbie', 'La La Land', 'Drive') stars as Colt Seavers, a battle-scarred stuntman who, having left the business a year earlier to focus on both his physical and mental health, is drafted back into service when the star of a mega-budget studio movie-being directed by his ex, Jody Moreno, played by Golden Globe winner Emily Blunt ('Oppenheimer', 'A Quiet Place' films, 'Sicario')-goes missing.
"The Fall Guy" is described as "a new hilarious, hard-driving, all-star apex-action thriller and love letter to action movies and the hard-working and under-appreciated crew of people who make them." It is directed by David Leitch, who was behind such action film as "Bullet Train", "Deadpool 2", "Atomic Blonde" and "Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw".
The movie, which is based on the 1980s TV series of the same name, also stars Hannah Waddingham, Stephanie Hsu and Teresa Palmer. Lee Majors, who starred on the original TV series, will also appear in the film, which is set for theatrical release on March 1, 2024.
