According to a memo obtained by TMZ, prosecutors said there was 'insufficient evidence' in the case and 'contradicting and/or no corroborating witnesses' needed to pursue charges against the martial artist.

AceShowbiz - Conor McGregor finally breathes a sigh of relief. The former UFC champ, who was previously accused of raping a woman at the NBA Finals, managed to escape charges and he's so "pleased" to hear the news.

On behalf of the 34-year-old, his attorney Barbara Llanes of Gelber Schachter & Greenberg said in a statement to TMZ Sports, "After a thorough investigation, including a review of videos and interviews with eyewitnesses, the authorities have concluded that there is no case to pursue against my client, Conor McGregor." She added, "On behalf of my client, his family and his fans we are pleased this is now over."

According to a memo obtained by TMZ, prosecutors said there was "insufficient evidence" in the case and "contradicting and/or no corroborating witnesses" needed to pursue charges. A bathroom attendant also reportedly told prosecutors that he saw the martial artist and the woman in question enter a stall together, but he "did not hear any signs of distress or sounds that would corroborate that whatever was occurring was not consensual."

A friend of Conor's accuser also told prosecutors that the woman had called her mother the night of the alleged assault "to tell her she had met" him. The memo also divulged that, when the woman approached police with her claim, she asked detectives if they believed Conot "would like to 'settle' or 'pay her off' if she did not pursue charges."

Conor was served with demand letters by the woman's attorney, Ariel Mitchell, nearly a week after he attended game 4 of the NBA Finals at Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida on June 9. In the letters obtained by TMZ, he was accused of "violently" sexually harassing the woman after the Denver Nuggets won against the Miami Heat.

According to the letters, NBA and Heat security assisted in forcing the woman into a men's restroom after separating her from her friend. At that time, Conor and his security guards had already been inside the restroom. "Security refused to let [the woman] exit or allow anyone else, including her friend, inside the bathroom," the letters read.

Once the woman was inside, Conor was alleged to have come out of a handicap stall and "shoved his tongue in the victim's mouth and aggressively kissed her." The letters also noted that Conor forced the woman into performing oral sex with him, before attempting to sodomize her.

It was said that the woman was able to escape after she repeatedly elbowed Conor. Unfortunately, in her rush to escape, the woman left her bag behind, which was "held hostage" by Conor's security guards, and had to beg them to return it to her. The woman filed a police report over the assault two days after the incident, on June 10.
