Of the release date for the new set, a source reveals that the singer 'doesn't know when she'll want to release' an album 'as she wants to be respectful of the timeline for 'Wicked.' '

AceShowbiz - Ariana Grande is working on new music. If a new report is to be believed, the "7 Rings" songstress has been working on her seventh album, which will be a follow-up to her 2020 record, "Positions".

Revealing the news was Page Six. Sources told the outlet that the 30-year-old initially wanted to "focus all her energies" on her new movie "Wicked" before going back into the recording studio. However, due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, the production was paused.

It prompted Ariana to use her free time to create new music. According to the sources, she has been "hard at work" with producer Max Martin in New York recording her new project.

"Her priority has been Glinda [her character in 'Wicked'] for the past two years," the insider said. "And still is, as they haven't finished the film."

Of the release date for the new set, the informant divulged that Ariana "doesn't know when she'll want to release" an album "as she wants to be respectful of the timeline for 'Wicked.' " The source added that she "originally didn't want to do any music at all until after the films were released."

"She works quickly and drops [in] instinctively whenever she feels ready," the source further explained. "So who knows?"

The news arrived a few weeks after Ariana finalized her divorce from Dalton Gomez. The now-exes reportedly filed the terms of their settlement to the Los Angeles Superior Court on October 8.

After their split was first revealed in July, it was reported that Ariana has been dating her "Wicked" co-star Ethan Slater. Ethan himself is currently in the middle of a divorce with his estranged wife Lilly Jay.
