The 'Django Unchained' actor, who was rushed to the hospital in April, also assures his online devotees that rumors about him being 'paralyzed' and 'blind' were not true.

AceShowbiz - Jamie Foxx has shared the first video since his health scare. In the clip uploaded on Instagram, the "Django Unchained" actor was seen tearing up as he thanked those who have supported and prayed for him amid his hospitalization.

"First of all I want to say thank you to everybody that's prayed, sent me messages. I cannot even begin to tell you how far it took me and how it brought me back," the 55-year-old kicked off the Friday, July 21 post. I went through something that I never thought I would go through."

"I know a lot of people were waiting or wanting to hear updates but to be honest with you, I just didn't want you to see me like that, man," he added. "I want you to see me laughing, having a good time, partying, cracking a joke, doing a movie, television show. I didn't want you to see me with tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was gonna make it through."

Foxx went on to credit his daughter and sister for saving his life. "My sister Deidra Dixon, my daughter [Corrine Foxx] really saved my life. To them, to God, to a lot of great medical people, I'm able to leave you this video," he stated. "I cannot tell you how great it feels to have your family kick in in such a way, and y'all know they kept it airtight, they didn't let nothing out, they protected me. And that's what I hope that everyone could have in moments like these."

The "Day Shift" star also shut down rumors regarding his medical condition. He explained, "By being quiet, sometimes things get out of hand. Some people said I was blind but as you can see my eyes are working just fine. Some said I was paralyzed, I am not but I did go to hell and back. My road to recovery had some potholes as well. But I am coming back, I am able to work, so I want to thank the people who let me work."

With his cracked voice, Foxx said to the camera, "I love everybody and all the love that I got. I know they talk about people crying on videos and you can always take 2 but I am not, it is what it is. If you see me out from now and every once in a while I burst into tears it's because it's been tough, I was sick."

Before concluding the clip, Foxx tried to light up the mood by quipping that the video wasn't shot by a clone. "Some people talk about how I am clone, check this out," he joked, pretending to take off a face-mask, before adding, "Just kidding!"

In April, Foxx's daughter Corinne announced that her dad was suffering from a medical complication. However, little else was shared about his health troubles at the time.
