AceShowbiz - Robert De Niro's girlfriend Tiffany Chen reveals that her motherhood isn't all that smooth-sailing. During her appearance on "CBS This Morning", the 45-year-old shares that she suffered "postpartum complications" after giving birth to her and the actor's daughter in April.
During the interview, Tiffany admitted to host Gayle King that she's struggling with a "postpartum complication" after welcoming Gia, the actor's seventh child. The full interview is set to air on Friday, July 14.
In addition to Gia, the 79-year-old "Godfellas" actor is a father to Drena, 51, Raphael, 46, 27-year-old twins Julian and Aaron, Elliot, 24, and Helen, 11. The acting vet, who has remained largely tight-lipped on his daughter's arrival, previously revealed that his six older children have yet to meet his baby girl.
The Hollywood icon confirmed that he became a father of seven when he corrected a reporter who called him a father of six, noting that he "just had a baby." The star also told Page Six that he was not surprised to welcome baby No. 7, adding that Gia was intentional.
"How you could not plan that kind of thing?" he said, "I'm OK with it, I'm good with it." "The Irishman" actor added that parenting "never gets easier."
That aside, Robert recently lost his grandson Leandro De Niro Rodriguez, who died at the age of 19 on Sunday, July 2. His adoptive daughter Drena broke the heartbreaking news of her son's shocking passing on Instagram.
She wrote in an emotional Instagram post, "My beautiful sweet angel. I have loved you beyond words or description from the moment I felt you in my belly. You have been my joy my heart and all that was ever pure and real in my life. I wish I was with you right now. I wish I was with you."
"I don't know how to live without you but I'll try to go on and spread the love and light that you so made me feel in getting to be your mama," the 51-year-old actress continued. "You were so deeply loved and appreciated and I wish that love alone could have saved you. I'm so sorry my baby."
She ended the note with a nod to Leandro's artist father Carlos, adding, "I'm so sorry @carlosmare. Rest in Peace and Eternal Paradise my darling boy." Drena added in a comment, "I still hope this is a nightmare and I'll wake up tomorrow."
Leandro was laid to rest earlier this month.
