Aaron Taylor-Johnson stars as the titular character, who goes on a vendetta against the evils, in this origin story about one of Spider-Man's most iconic villains.

AceShowbiz - Kraven the Hunter has been unleashed. Sony Pictures has released the first red-band trailer for its upcoming movie starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson as one of Spider-Man's most iconic villains.

The video includes flashback scenes that give a look at the origin of Kraven the Hunter, the bad guy who is obsessed with hunting down his preys. "My son never shows mercy," says Russell Crowe, who plays Kraven's father. Introducing his shady business to his two sons from young ages, he tells them, "Power is about strength. If you show weakness, you will give our enemies an opening."

The video then shows Kraven's father taking him on a hunt for wild animals. When Kraven gets attacked by a lion, his father abandons him, telling his man, "He's weak, like his mother. Leave him."

At the same time, Kraven gets his super powers. "I stared death in the face. And for the first time, I saw my true self," he says of his transformation. With enhanced strength, speed, agility, stamina and longevity, he relentlessly preys on his enemies as a personal vendetta against his father.

The trailer teases, "Villains aren't born - they're made," before it offers a glimpse at another Spider-Man villain, Rhino. Alessandro Nivola plays the character, who was last portrayed by Paul Giamatti in Sony's "The Amazing Spider-Man" movies.

"Kraven the Hunter" also stars Ariana DeBose as Calypso, a voodoo priestess and Kraven's love interest, Fred Hechinger as Dmitri Smerdyakov a.k.a. Chameleon, Kraven's half-brother who is a master of disguise, and Christopher Abbott as another villainous character.

J. C. Chandor directs the movie, which is written by Art Marcum, Matt Holloway and Richard Wenk based on the Marvel comic character created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. It is produced by Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach and David Householter. The movie is set to arrive in U.S. theaters on October 6.
