The alleged brawl takes place after Casanova, who prepares to be sentenced later this month for his alleged crimes as part of the Untouchable Gorilla Stone Nation gang, wrote an emotional letter to Judge Philip Halper.

AceShowbiz - Casanova has been involved in a bloody prison altercation that took place at Essex County Correctional Facility in Newark, New Jersey. The incarcerated emcee was caught in the brawl someone allegedly "slashed" him in the face.

The alleged incident took place on Thursday, June 15. According to NBC New York, the rapper was cut in the face with an unknown weapon by another inmate and it resulted in him along with other inmates chasing him down.

Addressing the ordeal, spokesperson for Essex County Correctional Facility, Anthony Puglisi, told the outlet, "This minor incident and whether weapons were employed is under investigation." An officer, meanwhile, told WNBC, "Inmate Lugo? You couldn't see his face because it was saturated in blood."

"His whole uniform was saturated in blood," the said officer continued. "Inmate Senior was sitting there and blood was just coming out of his face."

This arrived after Casanova, who prepares to be sentenced later this month for his alleged crimes as part of the Untouchable Gorilla Stone Nation gang, wrote an emotional letter to Judge Philip Halpern. "I am telling you and anyone that will listen that I wanted out before I was arrested and I am out," he began.

"I learned through my music career that people will listen and that I don't need to associate myself with a gang to succeed. I don't need to associate with a gang even if I don't succeed," he added. "While I have been in here I lost my father to cancer. While I put on that strong facade, all I wanted to do was end it. Surviving on Rikers Island and upstate correctional facilities were not easy with racial and gang tension and violence at its height."
