AceShowbiz - Lifestyle and beauty influencer Jackie Miller James is fighting for her life in the hospital after suffering brain aneurysm while she was pregnant. The 35-year-old has been in the ICU since she was found unconscious at home, one week before her due date.
According to a GoFundMe page established by her sisters Nicole and Nicelle, Jackie was nine months pregnant when her husband found her collapsed at their home in California. She was rushed to the emergency room, where doctors performed an emergency C-section to deliver her daughter.
Doctors also performed brain surgery at the same time for the "severe brain bleeding and injury" caused by the ruptured aneurysm. She has since been in a medically induced coma in the ICU, where she has undergone five brain procedures.
Her newborn daughter, whose name has not been released, remained in the NICU for 12 days before going home. A photo on the GoFundMe page shows her in coma when she met her daughter, clad in a little pink flowered hat.
"If Jackie and the baby arrived a few minutes later at the hospital, we likely would have lost both of them," her sisters wrote. "But instead, Jackie is continuing to fight for her life each day and we are optimistic she can beat the odds by surrounding her with the right specialists and methods of therapy."
"Jackie is expected to remain in the ICU for weeks and will continue to be hospitalized for months," they continued, as they remain optimistic that she "can beat the odds." They added, "While the road will be long, we are committed to bringing Jackie home to her daughter and husband."
They hope to raise $250,000, which will be used to "provide a way for family and friends to help Jackie secure the highest level of care," including "speech therapy, physical therapy, home modifications, and alternative therapies." It has raised nearly $200,000, with "The Big Bang Theory" actor Kunal Nayyar having given a generous donation of $5,000.
Jackie has over 40,000 followers on Instagram. She is known for sharing beauty and lifestyle content on the platform.
