The official Twitter account of 'And Just Like That…' confirms that the actress will reprise her beloved character Samantha Jones on the TV series reboot of 'Sex and the City' by tweeting, 'Secret's out!!'

AceShowbiz - Kim Cattrall will be returning to the "Sex and the City" universe, much to fans' delight. The actress will reprise her iconic role as Samantha Jones in season 2 of "And Just Like That…", according to Variety.

However, it seems like fans shouldn't have a big expectation about Kim's return. Sources tell the publication that she will only appear in one scene. It's also said that Kim filmed her dialogue on March 22 in New York City and other stars on the series, including Sarah Jessica Parker, were not on the set.

The scene reportedly will see Kim's Samantha, who has moved to London on the show, having a phone call with Sarah's Carrie Bradshaw. Famed "Sex and the City" costume designer Patricia Field dressed Samantha for her scene.

Additionally, New York Post claims that Kim's cameo is kept hidden even from the show's crew. It's also said that Kim's name never even appeared on a call sheet. "The fact that they're keeping it very hush-hush says that there's some implication that she might be coming back - not this season, but it's definitely a cliffhanger that's gonna get people to come back for Season 3," a source told the publication.

The official Twitter account of "And Just Like That…" confirms Kim's return as it responds to New York Post's article about the matter. "Secret's out!!" so it tweeted on Wednesday, May 31.

While Kim's cameo on the HBO Max series may not be big, it's enough to make "Sex and the City" fans excited. Kim last played Samantha in 2010's "Sex and the City 2" before she announced in 2016 that she was done playing the beloved character ahead of a third movie. "I would have preferred for all of us to have some kind of event to warrant a third film. That didn't happen," she later told Variety in 2022.

Kim's decision to step away from the franchise caused a public beef with Sarah. It explained why she wasn't approached to reprise the character when Sarah and showrunner Michael Patrick King were planning the TV series reboot of "Sex and the City" in 2021.
