More than two decades after the incident, the 'Power' star is revealed by the 'Thoughts of a Predicate Felon' rapper to have protected him by not allowing him to visit.

AceShowbiz - 50 Cent was unraveled to have Tony Yayo's back after his infamous shooting incident. More than two decades after the "Power" actor was shot nine times, his rapper friend revealed that the former warned him against visiting the former in the hospital to protect him.
Tony made the revelation during an appearance in the Saturday, May 20 episode of "Hotboxin' with Mike Tyson" podcast. Confessing that he did not visit 50 in the hospital, the "Thoughts of a Predicate Felon" rapper told host Mike Tyson, "They was like, 'You next, Yayo, they gon' kill you!' "
The 45-year-old rapper went on to explain, "And 50's still shot up. I'm like, 'Damn, I'mma die? N****s gonna kill me out here!' I gotta move safe, right? But 50 was always a thinker, right? Because when he was in the hospital, he didn't want me to see him shot the f**k up, all banged up, you know?"
Revealing that 50 intended to protect him, Tony further stated, "But I'm like, 'Yo, why you didn't want me to see you?' And the n***a was like, 'Because it will f**k with your mental. It would have made you scared seein' me f**ked up like that.' "
Tony was not the first one who talked about 50's outlook. Back in 2022, in the October 4 episode of "The Game Changing Attorney Podcast with Michael Mogill", author Robert Greene said, "When it comes to 50, there is something about him that's different. There is an energy and I think the energy is his realistic outlook."
On the reason why, Robert explained, "He's not someone who wants to get high all the time and just live in this fantasy world and imagine having money. He's extremely realistic when he looks at the world, and I think actually he got that from his mother, to be honest with you. His father was a drug dealer, a hustler, who was killed when he was I believe nine years old. He had that kind of hardcore mentality."
50 was shot nine times in front of his grandmother's house in South Jamaica, Queens back in May 2000. After five months of therapy, he recovered and made the decision to stay away from the streets and to pursue a rap career that would propel him to the top of the music industry.
