Getting candid about her secret romance with the country singer, the 'Chrisley Knows Best' alum describes her now-ex-boyfriend as 'right person but terrible timing.'

AceShowbiz - Savannah Chrisley has called it quits with boyfriend Nate Smith. When opening up about her hush-hush romance with the "Whiskey on You" singer, the daughter of Todd Chrisley got candid about how her getting custody of brother Grayson and niece Chloe played a part in their breakup.

In the Tuesday, May 9 episode of her "Unlocked" podcast, the 25-year-old reality TV star talked about her experience dating the country singer. "It was such a great experience. I mean, I have literally nothing to say about him other than having so much respect for him," she confessed. "It was just a tough situation for everyone involved."

The former "Chrisley Knows Best" star went on to explain what went wrong. "I think it was really hard because there were ways that we connected, so great. But then also, it's so hard for anyone to understand the level of trauma that's going on in my life right now. And also his career, like we said, is freakin' taking off. I mean, playing sold-out stadium tours," she stated. "It's crazy! No one deserves the success more than he does."

Savannah further disclosed, "He needs someone who's going to be able to go to those things and enjoy them with him." Admitting she could not be that person, she made a reference to 16-year-old Grayson and 10-year-old Chloe as saying, "There's no way for me to do it without feeling guilty for leaving the kids."

"So I have to figure out what a healthy balance is going to be of being able to have a personal life while having the kids and everything else involved," Savannah added. "That, I think, is such a bittersweet thing that I'm still trying to work through in my mind is maybe it was the right person but terrible timing."

"We're both capable of being friends with each other, and just him living out his career, me living out mine, my family stuff, everything involved. So it's been a challenge," she continued admitting.

Before dating Nate, Savannah was engaged to hockey player Nic Kerdiles. The pair called it quits in 2020.
