For the event, which took place on Friday, April 28, Julia appeared to make a reference to Natalie Portman's character in "Black Swan". The model sported very dramatic makeup look featuring white powder and black eyeliner.
She completed her eyebrow-raising look with a black gothic evening gown that featured some faux feathers around her waistline. The former girlfriend of Kanye West also held a little bag that looks like a leather jacket on a metal hanger.
Prior to this, Julia wore a similar look while attending Elle's Women of Impact Celebration. The 33-year-old hit the red carpet with her heavily powdered face and purple lip.
As for her outfit, she dressed in a "cream silk Wiederhoeft skirt and a matching blouse, with a corset bodice and rounded sleeves." She paired her style with a VANN choker with purple pearl pendant, an Alexander McQueen ivory leather $2,890 Jewelled Hobo bag and copper-colored pointed boots from Giuseppe Zanotti.
While Julia seemed proud with her new look, some Internet users were not impressed. "That's the ghost of Christmas past," one user wrote in an Instagram comment. One other claimed, "showed this to my lil cousin and she started crying." Someone even accused Julia of being an attention-seeker, saying, "If 'please give me attention' was a person."
However, not everyone criticized the mom of one. One fan gushed, "Ok I used to hate on her so much, but I truly love how she just does not give a single f. She goes against all the beauty standards and doesn't want to mix into the crowd."
