AceShowbiz - Prince Harry and wife Meghan Markle have been spotted making their first public appearance since the Duke of Sussex released his bombshell memoir "Spare". The Duke and Duchess joined other celebrities at Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi's vow renewal on Thursday, February 2 which was shared via YouTube.
According to Page Six, the royal couple had a "wonderful time" at the ceremony, which was officiated by Kris Jenner. A source told the news outlet, "They indeed attended and had a wonderful time celebrating Portia's birthday and the couple's vow renewal."
The event was originally held to celebrate Portia's birthday, but she surprised the former "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" host by renewing their 2008 wedding vows. "I was thinking about my life, my accomplishments. And it just all kept leading back to you," the "Arrested Development" alum said. "And I thought what greater accomplishment could I ever have in my life than being loved by someone who is so magnificent and incredible as you."
Ellen also shared a video from the romantic event. In the clip, Kris could be seen saying, "Welcome to Portia's birthday party and to the newest home of one of my favorite couples." "The Kardashians" star went on to say that the couple was "born for each other" and called them "couples goals."
"Portia surprised me at her birthday party by renewing our vows. Thank you @KrisJenner for officiating and @BrandiCarlile for performing, and Portia for being the greatest gift to me, even on your birthday. You can watch the whole video on my YouTube," so Ellen wrote in the caption.
In addition to Harry and Meghan, some other A-listers, including Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennifer Aniston, Carol Burnett, Courteney Cox, Melissa Etheridge, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom, were in attendance.
The Sussexes did have a special friendship with Ellen and Rossi. When the "Suits" alum guested on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" back in November 2021, the two raved about spending Halloween together. "We wanted to do something fun for the kids, and then the kids were just not into it at all," Meghan said of son Archie Harrison (3) and daughter Lilibet Diana (1).
The actress shared that her son had a dinosaur costume but only wore the outfit for "about five minutes." Ellen responded, "Not even five minutes," before Meghan added, "Finally Harry talked him into putting the head on." As for her daughter, Lili was dressed up as a skunk, "like Flower from 'Bambi'."
