The 45-year-old Colombian singer officially becomes a chart-topper after releasing 'Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol 53', her collaborative song with Argentine producer Bizarrap.

AceShowbiz - Shakira might have had rough months after ending her relationship with longtime partner Gerard Pique, but she still has something to celebrate thanks to the success of her new music. The Colombian superstar has become a chart-topper after releasing "Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol 53", her collaborative song with Argentine producer Bizarrap.

With the women's empowerment anthem, the 45-year-old singer has broken the all-time record for most monthly listeners for a Latin artist in Spotify history, surpassing Bad Bunny with 68.88 million. She also scored her first U.K. top 40 appearance in almost a decade as the song landed at No. 31.

In addition, "Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol 53" soared high from No. 16 to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart. It also debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard Latin Airplay chart and at No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Elsewhere, the song spent its second week at the pinnacle of the global YouTube songs chart with 157 million streams, up 79 percent.

Shakira has revealed the story behind the track. "I never thought what for me was a catharsis and a release would go straight to number one in the world. I want to embrace the millions of women who rise up against those who make us feel insignificant. Women who defend what they feel and think and raise their hand when they don't agree -- they are my inspiration," the "Can't Remember to Forget You" songstress, who shares two children with her ex Gerard, said on Instagram.

Some social media users, however, accused the "Waka Waka" hitmaker of "misogyny" by releasing the song, which they believed to be aimed at the soccer player. Still, her supporters came to her defense, saying she was just turning her "bad experiences" into artistic material.
