In the footage, which he captioned, 'From The Heart,' the Buffalo Bills safety says, 'It was important for me to wait and speak publicly at the right time, as it was just a lot to process within my own self, mentally, physically, even spiritually.'

AceShowbiz - Damar Hamlin has shared spoken publicly for the first time since suffering a cardiac arrest earlier this month. Making use of Instagram, the NFL star shared a video of him extending his gratitude to those who have supported and prayed for him.

The 24-year-old posted the clip on Saturday, January 28 and tagged his team Buffalo Bills. In the footage, which he captioned, "From The Heart," the athlete said, "It was important for me to wait and speak publicly at the right time, as it was just a lot to process within my own self, mentally, physically, even spiritually."

"I can't tell you how appreciative I am of all the love, all the support and everything that's just been coming in my way," the safety added. "What happened to me on 'Monday Night Football' I feel is a direct example of God using me as a vessel to share my passion and my love directly from my heart with the entire world."

"And I'm able to give it back to kids and communities all across the world who need it the most, and that's always been my dream," he continued. "That's always been what I stood for and what I will continue to stand for."

The post arrived around a week after Damar, who collapsed during his team's clash with the Cincinnati Bengals at the Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati on January 2, made his first public appearance since the incident. On Sunday, he headed to the Highmark Stadium in New York to see the two teams face off again.

Watching the game from a luxury suite, Damar was seen standing and holding his hands up in a heart shape from behind the glass windows - prompting applause from the crowd. The Bills posted a video of the moving moment on its official Twitter page.
