The 76-year-old 'If I Could Turn Back Time' singer announced her mother's passing via Twitter on Sunday, December 11 and her followers have since sent their condolences.

AceShowbiz - Cher's mother has sadly left this world. The "If I Could Turn Back Time" singer announced on Sunday, December 11 that her mom Georgia Holt passed away. She was 96.
The 76-year-old musician shared the heartbreaking news on Twitter. In her post, she penned, "mom is gone," adding a sad-face emoji.
Many have since sent their condolences. "I'm so very sorry to hear that your beloved mother has passed. My heart goes out to you. What a blessing to have had her in your life for as long as you did," one fan said.
Another replied, "Sending you nothing but love, light, and healing. She was a firecracker, and she will be so deeply missed." Someone else chimed in, "I'm so sorry [a blue heart emoji] @cher I know how you feel, and it's a terrible pain. My sister sent me this pic, I hope it touches you as it did me."
"There is NOTHING I can say to EASE your pain or SOOTHE your SOUL. Hold good thoughts of your mom close to your , lock them tight, and she'll ALWAYS be with you," a different individual added. "My poor dear, Georgia was a part of our lives for decades. So SMART. So BEAUTIFUL. TRULY A WOMAN BEFORE HER TIME."
Cher previously divulged on September 9 that her mom Georgia was taken to the hospital with pneumonia. "Sorry I've been MIA. Mom's been sick off and on. She just got out of [hospital]. She had pneumonia. She's getting better," she wrote at that time.
On the following day, Cher thanked her online devotees for their prayers. She added that "home is the best medicine" for her mother and "she's getting better."
Georgia, who was born in 1926, was a singer-songwriter, model and actor. She famously appeared on the hit sitcom "I Love Lucy". Aside from Cher, she was survived by her daughter Georganne LaPiere and partner of 46 years, Craig Spence.
