The iconic singer/songwriter's estate slams the former POTUS, who recently announced his 2014 presidential bid, after he uses 'Hold on I'm Coming' for his political campaign.

AceShowbiz - The estate for Isaac Hayes isn't happy after Donald Trump used the late musician's songs for his 2024 presidential campaign. On Wednesday, November 16, the iconic singer/songwriter's estate revealed on Twitter that it considered suing the former POTUS for the unauthorized use of the song.
"Once again, The estate and family of Isaac Hayes DID NOT approve the use of 'Hold on I'm coming' by Sam and Dave by Donald Trump at his 2024 Presidential announcement tonight," the tweet read. "We are exploring multiple legal options to stop this unauthorized use."
In a follow-up tweet, the estate continued, "Stopping a politician from using your music is not always an easy task, but we are dedicated to making sure that Donald Trump does not continue to use 'Hold on I'm Coming' by written by Isaac Hayes an David Porter in further rallies and public appearances."
This wasn't the first time for Hayes' estate to criticize Trump for using "Hold On, I'm Coming" without permission. Back in May, it slammed the businessman-turned-politician for using the track during a National Rifle Association convention, which took place days after the mass shooting of an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas. The late singer's family claimed that they "DID NOT approve and would NEVER approve" the song being played by Trump at the convention.
Hayes' son, Isaac Hayes II, additionally doubled down on the family's statement in an interview with Newsweek. "We actually own the publishing to this record, and so they did not reach out for us to license the song," he shared. "Given that Trump is so divisive, and the rhetoric that he uses in his campaign rallies, we don't want our father's music associated with him or his campaign at all."
He also believed that his father would never approve his song being used by Trump, who recently announced his 2024 presidential bid. "He would have definitely in no way, shape or form supported that," he said.
Porter, meanwhile, condemned the move on his own Twitter page. "Someone shared with me Donald Trump used the song 'Hold On I'm Coming' for a speaking appearance of his," he wrote at the time. "Hell to the No! I did Not and would NOT approve of them using the song for any of his purposes! I also know Isaac's estate wouldn't approve as well! #Memphis #Music #Grammy."
Hayes is one of the musicians who publicly took a jab at Trump after the MAGA leader used their music for his campaign. Among them were Neil Young, Bruce Springsteen, Elton John, Pharrell Williams, Adele, Rihanna, The Village People and Creedence Clearwater Revival.
