The 'All I Want for Christmas Is You' hitmaker responds after the lifestyle guru publicly calls out the singer for rushing to celebrate Christmas before the turkey tradition is yet to take place.

AceShowbiz - Mariah Carey and Martha Stewart got into a bizarre public spat over Thanksgiving. The R&B diva and the lifestyle guru have had a friendly feud after the latter called out the former for rushing to celebrate Christmas before the turkey tradition is yet to take place.

During her appearance on "Today" last week, Martha begged Mariah not to "give up" Thanksgiving just because she doesn't "like turkey." She said, "Mariah, you know me. I am a traditionalist with a twist."

"You cannot give up Thanksgiving just because you don't like turkey," the 81-year-old implored. "I love turkey, and many, many other people love turkey. So, do not think that we are going to give up Thanksgiving just because you say so."

In response to Martha's jab at her, Mariah responded on Twitter, "Dearest Martha!! NEVER will I give up Thanksgiving!! But we can still start getting into the festive spirit now!" She then extended an invite for Thanksgiving dinner to Martha while shading the cookbook author for never inviting her to Martha's own Thanksgiving celebration.

"P.S I'd love to have you at my Thanksgiving dinner although I've yet to be invited to your Thanksgiving extravaganza!" she jokingly added, noting, "And THAT is MAJOR! Esp if Snoop's coming!" She was referring to Martha's longtime friend Snoop Dogg.

Mariah Carey's Tweet

Mariah Carey responded to Martha Stewart's plea not to skip Thanksgiving.

Martha was likely miffed after Mariah posted a short video on her social media account on November 1 which showed how she has quickly switched from Halloween mode to the Christmas spirits after the spooky season ended.

In the clip, the so-called Queen of Christmas first showed up as a cackling Halloween witch before transforming into a Santa suit-wearing, reindeer-riding diva, belting "It's time!" over the backdrop of her mega-hit "All I Want for Christmas is You".

"IT'S TIIIIIIIIME!!!!!!!!" the "My All" songstress captioned it as her celebrity friends, namely Kerry Washington and Billy Eichner, responded with excitement.

Martha has not responded to Mariah's response to her comments.
