AceShowbiz - Tom Brady reportedly "didn't want" to divorce Gisele Bundchen. If a new report is to be believed, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback tried to "fix things" but his now-ex-wife found it was "too little, too late."

PEOPLE reported on Tuesday, November 1 that the seven-time Super Bowl champion was prepared to do "whatever it took to make things work." A source close to the 45-year-old added that the divorce was "never Tom's idea."

Tom "wanted to do whatever he needed to do to fix things" with Gisele because he "didn't want the divorce and he didn't want the marriage to end," said the insider. The so-called informant further claimed that the NFL star was even "willing to go to therapy, marriage counseling, whatever it took to make things work."

Tom reportedly "didn't want the kids to have divorced parents; he wanted to work this out." The source added that "near the end" of their marriage, Tom "was trying to make things work, and to make things right" but Gisele felt that "it was a little bit too little, too late." The insider continued, "She gave him a lot of opportunities to fix things, and he didn't."

Tom was "busy following his passion" during their 13-year marriage, which the source believes that it "is good" for him, but it ultimately left the 42-year-old Brazilian beauty feeling that "he wasn't hearing what she was saying."

As for now, after 13 years of marriage, the pair are both legally single. Per a three-page legal document, Gisele was the one who filed the petition for the dissolution of marriage on October 28 in Glades County, Florida. The now-former couple finalized their divorce only a few hours after the papers were filed.

The paperwork officially declared the marriage as dissolved and "irretrievably broken." According to reports, Tom and Gisele "agreed to joint custody of the kids." Tom will remain in Tampa while Gisele will live about four hours away in Miami, where he also has a residence.

More recently, Tom vowed to be a "great father" to his kids. "The good news is it's a very amicable situation and I'm really focused on two things; taking care of my family and certainly my children, secondly doing the best job I can to win football games," he said in the October 31 episode of his Sirius XM show "Let's Go!".

Meanwhile, it's reported that Gisele is doing just fine. Through the divorce, "Gisele is dealing with issues that have been plaguing her for a long time," a source close to the model said. Additionally, the insider said that Gisele "is also eager to continue with her own career and interests" now that she's legally single.
