AceShowbiz - Season 6 of "The Crown" will feature one of the most tragic incidents in the British royal family history. According to a new report, production for the Emmy-winning Netflix series was seen filming Princess Diana's car crash scene in the exact location in Paris.

Some photos, which were obtained by TMZ on Thursday, October 27, saw that filming was taking place at the Pont de l'Alma tunnel in Paris, France as it tried to recreate the tragic moment. A Mercedes-Benz vehicle was also featured with paparazzi tailing the car.

It seems like "The Crown" plans to retrace the actual route of the August 31, 1997, crash. In addition to the princess, her then-boyfriend Dodi Fayed and driver Henri Paul were killed in the horrific crash. However, sources close to the streaming giant claimed to the news outlet they won't be recreating the crash itself.

Prior to this, Elizabeth Debicki, who takes on the role of Princess Diana from season 4 onward, was spotted shooting controversial scenes showing Princess Diana's final night for "The Crown" in Barcelona. During the filming, she donned a gray suit and black top, the same outfit worn by the royal hours before she was killed in the car crash. Khalid Abdalla, who plays Egyptian film producer Dodi, was also seen joining Elizabeth.

Local media in Barcelona reported "The Crown" would be recording the events leading up to Diana's ill-fated 1997 trip to Paris when she died in an underpass. Catalan daily newspaper El Periodico said, "The scene filmed is the fatal car accident Lady Di suffered."

The filming of Lady Diana's final moments arrived after Netflix decided to add disclaimer to "The Crown" in the wake of criticism. Among the critics was Dame Judi Dench, who accused the show of "crude sensationalism" and backing calls for a disclaimer to be added to the upcoming season 5.

In response to be backlash, Netflix bosses eventually relented as a new trailer for the upcoming season now carries a message stating the show is fiction. "Inspired by real events, this fictional dramatisation tells the story of Queen Elizabeth II and the political and personal events that shaped her reign," read the disclaimer.

Season 5 of "The Crown" will premiere on November 9 on Netflix.
