The boxer and YouTuber reveals in an Instagram post that he initially did not plan to release the song because it is personal to him and he even 'cried several times making and listening to it.'

AceShowbiz - KSI has given "Summer Is Over" a music video treatment. The YouTuber/rapper, whose real name is Olajide Olayinka Williams "JJ" Olatunji, released the video on Monday, October 3, days after the release of the track.

The visuals gives "alone in a crowd" vibes. It opens with KSI singing his lyrics at a house party while he's surrounded by a group of friends. While his pals are having fun at the event, the 29-year-old looks a little bit sad.

"Living in a past life/ Maybe it's the last time/ Heavy on the inside/ Looking for my star sign, oh Everything is tie-dyed/ I don't wanna live a lie," he sings in the first verse. "So how am I supposed to feel alright?/ How am I supposed to get up from the feeling?"

"Summer Is Over" serves as the second leading single of KSI's upcoming junior album. He previously stated that he wouldn't drop the song because it is personal to him. In an Instagram post, he wrote, "Summer is over, out midnight. This song is so personal to me. I can't lie, I've cried several times making and listening to it."

"I made this song at a really painful time in my life where mentally and physically I was struggling a lot. As someone in the public, I tend to have to hide my sad moments, so I normally use music therapeutically to help me get through those times," he added. "So yeah, this song means a lot to me, and has taken a lot for me to finally put it out (as some of you know). Anyway, hope you lot have a good day :)."

The track arrived after KSI released his collaborative single with Tom Grennan called "Little Bit of Love" in August. "I'm finally releasing my first single since the 2021 release of 'All Over The Place'," he announced at that time.

"Teaming up with Tom Grennan, we've made an absolute smash to get the people pumped and ready for my headline fight at The O2 later this month," the boxer said of his fight against Alex Wassabi at London's The O2 arena on August 27. "This is a song that amplifies my 'never give up' attitude, whether it's to do with love or being back in the ring."
