The former baseball star, who called it quits with the 'On the Floor' hitmaker in early 2021 after getting engaged in 2019, wishes his ex and her children the best despite their split.

AceShowbiz - Alex Rodriguez spoke up about his past engagement to Jennifer Lopez. Although they ended up going their separate ways, the former baseball star said it was such "a good experience" to be the "On the Floor" hitmaker's fiance.

A-Rod offered his two cents when appearing on "Who's Talking to Chris Wallace?" At first, the host asked the athlete, "Honestly, does it bother you that within days after you broke up that she was back to seeing Ben Affleck, and that she ended up getting married to him, not you?"

In response, the 47-year-old first quipped, "First of all, I would say I'm glad I'm not going to ever be a presidential candidate because you would hammer me." He then added, "With Jennifer, look, it was a good experience. And I wish her and the children, who are smart, and beautiful and wonderful - I wish them the very best."

Chris was not satisfied with A-Rod's answer, prompting him to ask, "That's it?" To the question, the MLB legend replied, "That's it."

During the interview, A-Rod, who called it quits with J.Lo in early 2021 after getting engaged in 2019, was asked whether he thinks he's "good husband material." Chris went on to ask him, "Or do you think that honestly you just like the chase?"

A-Rod then explained, "I think when you look at my life, Chris, I mentioned when I was 15 years old and I think Sports Illustrated called me a top player in the country." He continued, "And at that time, I was Alex Rodriguez. And then somewhere along the way, at 24, I get a $250 million contract, and probably, I lost my way a little bit and I became A-Rod…"

"So in my 20s, early 30s, [I was] probably not the best," the former New York Yankees player elaborated further. "I think I'm gonna make a wonderful partner or husband and father post-suspension because of the lessons learned of my biggest mistakes."
