When appearing on 'Red Table Talk', the former star of 'Nashville' also recalls the first time she sought treatment for postpartum depression, alcohol and drug addiction.

AceShowbiz - Hayden Panettiere has finally addressed "painful" rumors about her motherhood journey. When appearing in the Wednesday, September 28 episode of "Red Table Talk", the "Nashville" alum shut down misconception saying she could "easily throw out" her child.
When speaking to Jada Pinkett Smith, Adrienne Banfield Norris and guest host Kelly Osbourne, Hayden admitted she's annoyed by "the idea that I am a person who would just easily throw out my child. Give away my child." She added, "The comments that people made, and assumed about my situation with my daughter were just so off and heartbreaking."
It said something like 'Why Hayden chose to give up her daughter,' I was just like this is so misrepresented," the 33-year-old continued. "It was tough, and it took me a long time to be able to talk about it. This is really the first time I've delved into that specific topic, because it's just scary and you don't want to piss anyone off-especially the person who has control of the child."
Hayden shares 7-year-old daughter Kaya with her ex, Wladimir Klitschko, who has been living with the young girl in Ukraine. The actress relinquished her custody in 2018 and amid her battle with alcohol addiction.
The Hollywood star previously revealed that she did not drink during her pregnancy but fell off the wagon after she gave birth. Although the decision to send her daughter away is the "most heartbreaking thing" she's ever done, the "Heroes" alum believes it was the best thing for the girl.
During the interview, Hayden also recalled the first time she sought treatment for postpartum depression, alcohol and drug addiction. "I went to treatment the first time when my daughter was 4-months-old, because I wanted to fix myself, because I was just leaning on that crutch," she explained.
Back in July, Hayden revealed to people that her daughter "has a beautiful life" with her dad. "I was just with her. She's just an amazing child. She's smart and she's funny and for whatever reason, she still loves me," she gushed at that time.
