AceShowbiz - It is known that Meghan Markle is not a favorite among palace staff. A new book gives more insight into the matter as it reveals the behind-the-scenes drama between the Duchess of Sussex and her former staff.

In "Courtiers: The Hidden Power Behind the Crown", author Valentine Low claims that a source told him that staff members called the wife of Prince Harry "narcissistic sociopath." The book also details the alleged ugly behavior by Meghan and Harry, who quit their royal duties in 2020.

A former staff allegedly revealed, "Everyone knew that the institution would be judged by her happiness. The mistake they made was thinking that she wanted to be happy." The former staff added, "She wanted to be rejected, because she was obsessed with that narrative from day one."

It is also said that staffers felt that they "were played" by the Sussexes. According to the book, some aides who previously worked for the couple referred to themselves as the "Sussex Survivors Club."

Also written in the book is that Meghan was not happy about not being paid amid her first royal tour in the fall of 2018, just months after she tied the knot with Harry. The mom of two was allegedly overheard complaining, "I can't believe I'm not getting paid for this."

Meghan was also said to be frustrated with the day-to-day demands of her royal duties. While the former "Suits" actress generally made a positive impression on the Australian public during the tour, "it was a different story" behind the scenes.

Based on firsthand accounts from staffers privy to Meghan's behavior, Valentine writes, "Although she enjoyed the attention, Meghan failed to understand the point of all those walkabouts [and] shaking hands with countless strangers." The author further insinuates that the royal's alleged harsh treatment of aides, particularly those involved with the Duke and Duchess' PR and communications team, escalated during the tour.

The new bombshell book also talks about how Meghan's alleged screaming tirades debilitated her ex-staffers. "There were a lot of broken people," an insider claims to author Valentine. "Young women were broken by their behavior."

In one alleged incident, the 41-year-old scolded a young female worker in front of other colleagues. "Don't worry. If there was literally anyone else I could ask to do this, I would be asking them instead of you," Meghan purportedly told the staffer.
