In the meantime, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback addresses his NFL return in a new social media post, saying that he is 'feeling pretty good' and 'an arm is a terrible thing to waste.'

AceShowbiz - Will Tom Brady really hang up his football jersey after the 2022 NFL season? If a new report is to be believed, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback is "expected" to retire after this season.

NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport reported on Sunday, September 11 that the 2022 season will be the 45-year-old athlete's 23rd in the NFL as well as his last. Ian cited sources with knowledge of the quarterback's thinking and reported that "the understanding" is that "the end is coming."

Tom, who took a secretive 11-day break during training camp, has not stated his intention to officially retire since returning. He also turned to his Instagram page on Sunday to post a pregame video ahead of Sunday's season opener against the Cowboys.

"It's been a unique offseason and lately, I've been seeing the same question on social media, 'Why'd you come back?' " Tom began. "I can give you a long speech, but the answer is actually pretty simple," he continued, before adding, "We've got a hell of a team."

Tom further explained, "I'm still feeling pretty good and an arm is a terrible thing to waste." He also stated, "I've been reminded for almost a decade now, 'You're headed for extinction.' And maybe so, but not today." The seven-time champion concluded the clip as saying, "I'll see you in Dallas."

Tom's decision to return to the NFL reportedly made his wife Gisele Bundchen "not happy." Recently, it's reported that the quarterback and the supermodel are no longer living together amid alleged "serious disagreement" over his NFL return.

"There's a lot of tension. [Gisele] was so happy when he announced his retirement, and she wasn't thrilled at all when he went back on that," a source explained. "They're hitting a rough patch. But I know they're trying, or at least he's trying, to figure it out and make it work. He wants to get through this and for things to get better."

On September 6, a separate source spilled to Page Six that "Gisele isn't back with Tom" despite returning to Florida from Costa Rica. "She flew back to Florida to be with her kids but hasn't been to their home in Tampa," added the insider.

The so-called informant further stated, "Tom is still hoping they can reconcile. Gisele has told him she's leaving him before, and they always made up when she cooled down." The source added that reports of the pair are currently divorcing are "not true," although other insiders believe the couple could be headed in that direction.

"They had agreed he would retire to focus on the family, then he changed his mind," an insider informed. "There's been trouble in the marriage over his decision to un-retire. Gisele has always been the one with the kids."
