In related news, it has been reported that in the wake of Queen Elizabeth II's death, the Duchess of Sussex has canceled her scheduled appearance in the upcoming episode of 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon'.

AceShowbiz - The reason why Prince Harry went to Balmoral Castle without his wife Meghan Markle has been revealed. According to a new report, the Duchess of Sussex didn't get invited to see Queen Elizabeth II before she passed away on Thursday, September 8 at the age of 96.

Previous reports speculated that Meghan might opt out from the viewing out of respect for her husband. However, a new report claimed that the higher up's within the British royal family decided to not invite the former "Suits" star.

According to royal expert Katie Nicholl, an invitation to join the family at the estate was not extended to Meghan. "It's understood that the family wanted Prince Harry to be there, even though he was unable to get to Balmoral in time to see his grandmother," Katie told Entertainment Tonight.

"But Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, was not, we understand, invited to join the family," the royal expert continued. "She has said she will go to Balmoral another time. But I think it is quite significant that Prince Harry traveled to Balmoral on his own without his wife."

Following an earlier announcement that Queen Elizabeth's health had taken a decline, Harry and Meghan decided to cancel their scheduled appearance at the WellChild Awards in London. Harry then traveled solo from London to Scotland, though he unfortunately only arrived in the country shortly after the news of the queen's death was made public. The Duke of Sussex was photographed arriving at the estate in a black SUV with his hand covering a portion of his face.

It, however, must be noted that Kate Middleton did not join her husband Prince William in Balmoral Castle. The Princess of Wales was seen in Windsor, picking up her children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, from school.

In related news, it has been reported that in the wake of Queen Elizabeth II's death, Meghan has canceled her scheduled appearance on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" for the Tuesday, September 20 episode. "Meghan was due on Fallon," a source told Page Six. "I don't even know what she was going to talk about, but that's obviously canceled now." It was also said that the next episode of Meghan's "Archetypes" podcast on Spotify has been pushed back.

The news outlet further revealed that Harry and Meghan are expected to remain in the U.K. until the monarch's state funeral, which is widely believed to be scheduled for Monday, September 19. It remains to be seen if their children, Archie (3) and Lilibet (1), will fly from California to join their parents for the funeral.
