The Weeknd Delights Cancer-Stricken Fan With Backstage Meetup

In a video surfacing online, the 'Save Your Tears' hitmaker and a young girl shared a sweet hug in his dressing room before she gives him some special gifts that she made by herself.

AceShowbiz - The Weeknd has brought a wide smile to a cancer-stricken girl's face. The "Save Your Tears" crooner just made the young fan's dream come true by meeting her backstage prior to his performance.

In a video surfacing online, the Canadian singer and the little girl shared a sweet hug in his dressing room. The elated toddler then asked him, "Are you going to sing on the stage?"

In response, The Weeknd excitedly replied, "Yes, I'm getting ready to sing on the stage. Are you gonna watch it?" The fan quickly answered, "Yeah!" She then gave The Weeknd a cutout of the letter "A" and something for his dog.

Grateful, the musician raved, "This is for my dog! Really? Thank you so much." In another, clip, meanwhile, the ex-boyfriend of Selena Gomez embraced the little girl before lifting her up in the air.

The meeting took place after the girl's mom wrote on Twitter, "My daughter wants to meet her favorite artist @theweeknd and go to his concert. I want to make that happen for her, she deserves the best of the best." The woman added, "she's kicking cancer's butt and still being a light in this world. help me make it happen for her. #AbelMeetKatana."

This was not the first time for The Weeknd to delight his fans. It was unveiled in early 2020 that he, Drake and J. Cole FaceTimed an 11-year-old fan, Elijah, during the "last difficult days of his life."

Elijah's family revealed that the three stars all responded to requests to get in touch before he passed away. Sharing videos of each of the artists chatting with the kid, his cousing wrote in the caption, "Over the past 3 years, my 11 y.o. (year old) cousin, Elijah, has battled cancer with the utmost resilience."

"Elijah's physical fight is now complete, as he transitioned to heaven on Friday. He didn't leave this world without knowing how much he was loved though," the cousin added. "Last weekend, Elijah got to 'meet' 3 of his favorite artists - The Weeknd, J. Cole, & Drake. Incredibly grateful for these 3 super-humans being so caring for my family during this time. We'll hold onto these moments forever."
