During an appearance on Jon Bernthal's 'Real Ones' podcast, the 'Transformers' star reflects on the time he 'f**ked up bad' and credits his 'saint' ex for saving his life.

AceShowbiz - Shia LaBeouf continues taking accountability for his past actions. Having recently opened up about his journey to redeeming himself through Catholicism, the actor addressed his relationship with his ex FKA twigs, who has accused him of sexual battery, assault and infliction of emotional distress.

During an appearance Jon Bernthal's "Real Ones" podcast on Friday, August 26, LaBeouf admitted to "hurt[ing]" his ex, whom he did not name. "I hurt that woman," he said in an in-depth conversation with his "Fury" co-star. "And in the process of doing that, I hurt many other people, and many other people before that woman."

The 36-year-old further blamed himself as saying, "I was a pleasure-seeking, selfish, self-centered, dishonest, inconsiderate, fearful human being." He claimed that he has since rediscovered his life purpose, adding, "When I think about what my life has become, and what it is now, like what my purpose is now ... I need to be useful. And when I look at this #MeToo environment, there's not a whole lot of dudes that are taking accountability."

LaBeouf went on confiding that he "f**ked up bad. Like crash and burn type s**t. Hurt a lot of people, and I'm fully aware of that." He said that there's a "long list of people that I need to make amends to ... and I'm going to owe for the rest of my life."

The "Transformers" star assured that he's in a much better place now than he was when the allegations first went public. "I wanted to hit Twitter and be like, 'Look, I got receipts,' " he said of the time. And while he still didn't name his accuser, he called her a "saint" who "saved my f**king life."

"Had she not intervened in my life and not created the avenue for me to experience ego death, I'd either have a really mediocre existence or I'd be dead in full," he divulged.

LaBeouf also named twigs in a letter to Olivia Wilde, in which he denied the notion that he was fired from her film "Don't Worry Darling". "My failings with Twigs are fundamental and real, but they are not the narrative that has been presented," he admitted in the letter he sent to the actress/director on Wednesday.

The "Constantine" star further addressed the false narrative about his exit from the psychological thriller. "I have embarked on a journey that feels redemptive & righteous (dirty word but fitting). I write to you now with 627 days of sobriety and a moral compass that never existed before my great humbling that was the last year and a quarter of my life. I reached out to you a few months ago to make amends; & I still pray one day, you can find space in your heart to forgive me for the failed collaboration we shared," he wrote.

"What inspired this email today is your latest Variety story," LaBeouf said. "I am greatly honored by your words on my work; thank you, that felt good to read. I am a little confused about the narrative that I was fired, however. You and I both know the reasons for my exit. I quit your film because your actors & I couldn't find time to rehearse. I have included as a reminder the screenshots of our text exchange on that day, and my text to Tobey."

He further suggested that Wilde used him to gain attention for her new movie. "I know that you are beginning your press run for DWD and that the news of my firing is attractive clickbait, as I am still persona-non-grata and may remain as such for the rest of my life," so he claimed.

Wilde has not publicly responded to the letter, but a leaked video she allegedly sent to LaBeouf seemed to suggest that she begged the actor not to quit "Don't Worry Darling". She also insinuated that there's a disagreement between LaBeouf and his co-star Florence Pugh, who ends up starring opposite Harry Styles in the movie.
