The 'Dune' star portrays an intense and disenfranchised drifter, who is in love with a young woman in the coming-of-age romance film from 'Call Me By Your Name' director Luca Guadagnino.

AceShowbiz - Timothee Chalamet has shared the first official footage of his upcoming movie, "Bones and All". Making use of his Instagram account, he posted the first teaser trailer of the cannibal romance on Wednesday, August 10.

In a strange twist of fate, Chalamet plays a cannibal lover, a label that has been attached to his "Call Me By Your Name" co-star Armie Hammer following multiple allegations by his former girlfriends. The forthcoming film also reunites the 26-year-old with his "Call Me By Your Name" director Luca Guadagnino.

Based on the novel of the same name by Camille DeAngelis, "Bones and All" is a story of first love between a young woman learning how to survive on the margins of society and an intense and disenfranchised drifter, as they meet and join together for a thousand-mile odyssey that takes them through the back roads, hidden passages and trap doors of Ronald Reagan's America. But despite their best efforts, all roads lead back to their terrifying pasts and to a final stand that will determine whether their love can survive their otherness.

Taylor Russell stars as Maren Yearly, a young woman who wants the same things we all do. She wants to be someone people admire and respect. She wants to be loved. But her secret, shameful needs have forced her into exile. She hates herself for the bad thing she does, for what it's done to her family and her sense of identity; for how it dictates her place in the world and how people see her--how they judge her. She didn't choose to be this way.

Guadagnino said about the film in a statement, "There is something about the disenfranchised, about people living on the margins of society, that I am drawn toward and touched by. I want to see where the possibilities lie for them, enmeshed within the impossibility they face. The movie is for me a meditation on who I am and how I can overcome what I feel, especially if it is something I cannot control in myself. And lastly, and most importantly, when will I be able to find myself in the gaze of the other?"

The filmmaker also described the movie as "a very romantic story, about the impossibility of love and yet, the need for it. Even in extreme circumstances." He gushed that Chalamet and Russell have "a gleaming power" and are able to "portray universal feelings."

"Bones and All" is set to have its world premiere at the 2022 Venice Film Festival in September before it is released on November 23. Also starring in the film are Michael Stuhlbarg, Andre Holland, Chloe Sevigny, David Gordon-Green, Jessica Harper, Jake Horowitz and Mark Rylance.
