The former Fifth Harmony member claps back after social media users claim she is no longer passionate about her music endeavors amid the wait for her debut solo album.

AceShowbiz - Normani Kordei isn't here for people questioning her passion for music. The former "The X Factor" contestant has shut down social media users who accused her of lacking motivation in releasing new music.

"No idea where Normani's motivation (no pun intended) has gone but I just dont see the same passion from her as I used to," one user wrote in a tweet, which has since been listed as private. "Before yall start, its not depression so dont even go THERE!"

A second user seemingly agreed and replied to the first user's tweet, "What happens when you've gotten comfortable and you're not HUNGRY anymore." Catching wind of the conversation, Normani quickly clapped back as she wrote back to the critics, "Just shut the f**k up."

Normani's response drew mixed reactions from other users, with British designer Hayden Williams defending the singer, "It's so interesting that people that have no clue what it's like to be in the music industry & the complexities that can come with that, but will dish out unwanted & rude opinions all the time smh."

Responding to Hayden's tweet, Normani admitted "real life s**t (is) going on in my personal life." Another fan opined, "Perhaps it's not in her control guys. Maybe it's something the fans are missing?"

Others, however, were not buying it. "we just want some new music from you, we're not asking for much here," one person stated. Another claimed, "you’re the one lying to your fan base every year on your album's release."

The initial comments come amid fan frustration over Normani's music release schedule. After Fifth Harmony announced their indefinite hiatus in 2018, the 26-year-old released her solo debut single "Motivation" in 2019, followed by two other solo tracks, "Wild Side" featuring Cardi B in 2021 and "Fair" in March of this year. She, however, has not announced the release date of her solo debut album just yet despite plans to do so.

Normani previously gave an update on the status of her debut LP back in December 2021. During an appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show", she told guest host Ciara that the studio set was "almost done." Meanwhile, in a June interview with Bustle, she promised that she would be releasing the album in the summer of this year and then going on tour. However, as the end of summer is nearing, she has yet to announce an official release date for the album.
