AceShowbiz - Kourtney Kardashian has landed in hot water. The Poosh founder has been accused of pulling a PR stunt with a commercial flight after her younger sister Kylie Jenner was heavily mocked over her private jet usage.
On Sunday, August 7, the 43-year-old reality star and her husband Travis Barker were spotted entering a commercial plane. They, along with Penelope Disick and North West, reportedly flew from Los Angeles International Airport to Spokane, Washington, on Alaska Airlines.
Seemingly trying to fly under the radar, Kourtney could be seen wearing sunglasses as she boarded the plane full of passengers in photos obtained by TMZ. As for the Blink-182 drummer, he rocked an oversized white graphic T-shirt.
Upon learning of the sighting, critics believed that Kourtney did that for a PR stunt. "PR stunt," one Twitter user wrote. Another suggested, "Typical, these hypocrites only ditch the private jet , when it becomes a PR problem for the family in the media." A third quipped, "Good! Now she needs to work on her usage of water! Smh."
"ONLY BECAUSE HER SISTERS WOULDN'T LOAN THEM THEIR JETS..," someone else sarcastically tweeted, while a separate user noted, "Let's see how often they pull this 'we fly commercial' farce."
Kourtney's sighting in the commercial plane came weeks after her sister Kylie was slammed by environmentalists for her excessive use of their private jets and the damage to the environment. On July 15, the Kylie Cosmetics founder posted a black-and-white picture of her and her rapper beau Travis Scott (II) cozying up to each other while standing in front of their private jets. "You wanna take mine or yours?" she boldly captioned the Instagram post.
The discovery led to many Twitter users branding Kylie "a full time climate criminal.." One person posted on the micro-blogging app, "kylie jenner out here picking which colour private jet she wanna take today meanwhile I gotta chug my iced coffee before my straw becomes paper mache???? explain."
Also receiving backlash over carbon footprint was Kim Kardashian. The SKIMS founder was ranked No. 7 on a list of top 10 offenders with her private jet emitting a whopping 4268.5 metric tons of carbon emissions over 57 flights so far this year, according to a study conducted by sustainability marketing firm Yard. Her shortest flights include a 38-minute flight to Palm Springs, California and a 23-minute flight from San Diego, California to Camarillo, California.
