AceShowbiz - Kylie Jenner has reacted to criticism over how she runs Kylie Cosmetics. Addressing her controversial "unsanitary" laboratory photos, "The Kardashians" star accused Emmy-winning cosmetic developer and makeup artist Kevin James Bennett of "spreading false information."
On Thursday, August 4, the 24-year-old makeup mogul responded to a claim made by Kevin that she didn't follow "proper sanitation protocols" during a visit to the Kylie Cosmetics laboratory. Refuting the allegation, the reality star insisted that the pictures were "not taken in a manufacturing facility," but rather at a place that was "nowhere near" where her products were being made for consumers.
"i would never bypass sanitary protocols and neither would any other celeb or beauty brand owner. that's completely unacceptable i agree," Kylie stressed, explaining that the snaps showed her in "a small personal space creating my own fun samples." She went on to add, "no one is putting customers at risk !" before slamming Kevin, "shame on you kevin for spreading false information !!!!"
However, Kevin was not pleased with her response. He noted how she was also pictured "without PPE or your hair tied back" while standing next to an industrial mixer containing what appeared to be product. "shame on me? NO, shame on you," he wrote back, "just take responsibility for your mistake and move on."
The eldest daughter of Kris Jenner then replied, "oh were you there kevin ? ugh now i have to change my dogs name," which prompted Kevin to respond, "Are you seriously going to lie and then troll me? Wow."
Kylie landed in hot water after she uploaded a series of pictures that saw her all glammed up in a lab coat while posing for photos at her company's facility on Wednesday, August 3. In the images, the "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" alum could be seen wearing no face mask and no gloves to cover her well-manicured fingers while handling various lab materials. She also let her long dark hair loose. "In the lab creating new magic for you guys [love emoji] better than ever," she wrote underneath the post.
Kylie was then called out by Kevin, who accused her of "gaslighting" her followers. "Working with cosmetic manufacturers (and their labs) is part of my job. I have very short hair, and I've NEVER been allowed into the lab without a hair net…AND GLOVES," he wrote on his page.
Kevin later wondered "what ignorant lab let [Kylie] touch things without following proper sanitation protocols?" The makeup expert further noted, "Folks, this is not the way we create cosmetics and misrepresents how our industry works. Credible manufacturers follow STRICT sanitation protocols to protect you."
