The RnB singer takes to her Instagram account to slam both Beyonce and Pharrell Williams for not reaching out to her after an interpolation of her smash single 'Milkshake' being used on Beyonce's 'Energy'.

AceShowbiz - Kelis isn't done calling out people. The R&B singer took to her Instagram account to slam both Beyonce Knowles and Pharrell Williams for not reaching out to her after an interpolation of her smash single "Milkshake" being used on a song off Beyonce's new record "Renaissance".

Of Pharrell, who wrote and produced "Milkshake" with his The Neptunes producing partner Chad Hugo, Kelis said in a Thursday, July 28 video, "Pharrell knows better. This is a direct hit at me." She continued, "It's very petty."

Kelis went on to call the whole situation "frustrating." She added, "I have the right to be frustrated. Why? Because no one had the human decency to call and be like, 'Yo, would like to use your record.' "

The 42-year-old also believed that this was done "on purpose," calling it a "very passive aggressive" move. "It's very stupid," she noted, "I'm gonna say what I have to say. I don't mince my words."

"Milkshake" was released in 2003 and served as the lead single for Kelis' "Tasty". Pharrell and Chad were all credited as the song's sole writers. Meanwhile, "Energy", Beyonce's song that samples "Milkshake", Pharrell and Chad joins Beyonce and others as songwriters. To be fair, the credits noted that the track "contains an interpolation of 'Milkshake' written by Pharrell Williams, Chad Hugo and performed by Kelis."

In a separate Instagram video, Kelis refused to call "Energy" a collaboration. "The definition of collaboration means that we are working together," she argued. "There's no working together if you are not even checking to see if everything's cool. That's a problem."

She wrote in the caption, "I just heard the record everyone is saying has my sample . But it's beyond this song at this point . This was a TRIGGER for me . Milkshake alone is one of the most licensed records of our generation. I am a creator , I'm an innovator, I have done more then left my mark on an era of music and style that will go down in history . But there are bully's and secrets and gangsters in this industry that smile and get away with it until someone says enough is enough . So I'm saying it today . I'm coming for what's mine and I want reparations . Peace ."

Kelis first voiced her frustration about the sampling in an Instagram comment reacting to a fan page's post about the news. The ex-wife of Nas said, "My mind is blown too because the level of disrespect and utter ignorance of all 3 parties involved is astounding. I heard about this the same way everyone else did." She continued, "Nothing is ever as it seems. Some of the people in this business have no soul or integrity and they have everyone fooled."
