The lively sneak peek of the video game-adaptated movie sees Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez and Justice Smith teaming up with Rege-Jean Page after they accidentally unleash 'the greatest evil' in the world.

AceShowbiz - "Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves" has raised the bar high early on at San Diego Comic-Con. Kicking off the convention on Thursday, July 21 as the first panel held at the massive Hall H, the movie brought its first lively trailer and slew of A-list stars.

The trailer offers a perfect mix of humor and actions, with Chris Pine's Elgin, a Bard, taking the center stage. He and Holga (Michelle Rodriguez), who is a Barbarian, attempt to right a wrong after they accidentally unleashed "the greatest evil" in the world.

"Truth be told... We helped the wrong person steal the wrong thing," Elgin says at the beginning of the video as he and Simon (Justice Smith), a sorcerer, flee to safety. "We didn't mean to unleash the greatest evil the world has ever know. But we're going to fix it," he tells Holga.

After hatching plans over drink, Elgin thinks their best chance at winning the fight is to use "strength," "courage" and "magic." Enlisting the help of Xenk (Rege-Jean Page), a Paladin, and Doric (Sophia Lillis), a Druid who can transform into an owlbear, they set off on their fantastical journey.

The logline of the movie reads, "Who needs heroes when you have thieves?" According to the official synopsis, "A charming thief and a band of unlikely adventurers undertake an epic heist to retrieve a lost relic, but things go dangerously awry when they run afoul of the wrong people. 'Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves' brings the rich world and playful spirit of the legendary roleplaying game to the big screen in a hilarious and action-packed adventure."

At the SDCC panel, Jonathan Goldstein, who directed the movie with John Francis Daley, teased, "There are characters from the Lore as well which will provide a runway into multiple films." Meanwhile, the cast, including Pine, Rodriguez, Page and Lillis talked about playing the game, which the movie is based on. Chloe Coleman, Jason Wong and Daisy Head were also on hand for the presentation.

"Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves" is scheduled to hit theaters in the U.S. on March 3, 2023.
