The 37-year-old Moroccan-American rapper, born Karim Kharbouch, brings up the claim when sitting down with DJ Akademiks on the latter's 'Off the Record' podcast.

AceShowbiz - French Montana made a new revelation regarding the music industry. The "Unforgettable" spitter claimed record labels take out life insurance policies on their artists due to the rising death toll of rappers in recent years.

The 37-year-old brought up his claim when speaking to DJ Akademiks on his "Off the Record" podcast. "We was beefing for real," he says in the clip." People was dying and this and that, and it was blocking a lot of money. People didn’t want to touch you."

"Your rap friends stop picking up, the labels stop picking up. It gets crazy. But now it's even crazier, they gettin' life insurance on artist," the Moroccan-American rapper added. "At least back then, we didn't have that. You're preying on his death. You're preying on making millions on his death."

"They're being realistic and you know, you're supposed to have life insurance anyway," he further explained. "But when the label does it if you don't have one, that's crazy, you know?"

During the sit-down, French also addressed rumored feuds between his friends over the years. He denied that J. Cole and Sean "P. Diddy" Combs" fought at a nightclub in 2013. The emcee also shut down speculations about Drake and Diddy getting into a tit-for-tat at DJ Khaled's 2014 birthday bash.

"I don't think none of that ever happened," French said of the alleged scuffle between Drake and Diddy. "Nah, I don't think so. I think it was probably over a song or something, but I never really got into it. 'Cause you know they're both like my best friends."

"People be expecting me to pick a side, right? And I lose a lot of friends like that," he went on sharing. "So if I'm cool with you and I'm cool with him and y'all beef, then I'll still say what's up to both of y'all cause I met both of y'all at the same time. How am I wrong for that?"
