AceShowbiz - Honey Boo Boo's new accessory has led fans to believe that they are hearing wedding bells. The reality TV star, who is also known as Alana Thompson, has sparked a speculation that she is engaged to her boyfriend Dralin Carswell with her new diamond ring.
However, a representative for the former "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" star has quickly shut down the rumors. The rep tells Page Six that the 16-year-old and Dralin are not engaged to get married. As for the diamond ring, the rep insists that it is "just a ring."
Honey Boo Boo flashed the huge sparkler in a series of photos published by Page Six on Monday, June 20 that featured her with her sister Lauryn Shannon a.k.a. Pumpkin, who recently welcomed twin babies with her husband Joshua Efird. In the images, the former child beauty pageant contestant joined her elder sister as the latter debuted her newborns, whom she welcomed in May.
In one of the pictures, Honey Boo Boo sat on a bed next to Lauryn as she kissed her nephew and her sister's son, 1-year-old Bentley. She was seen wearing the rock on her left ring finger, hence the engagement rumors. She also put the ring on display as she swept hair off her face with her left hand in another snap.
Honey Boo Boo and Dralin's relationship was first revealed in September 2021. At the time, The Sun reported that the pair had been dating for six months.
The pair were believed to have made their relationship official when Dralin, a college student, changed his status to In a Relationship on Facebook back in March. On the same day, the reality TV star posted a photo of the pair together on her private account. In the comments on the photo, Dralin called her his "bae" and added a heart emoji.
In May of this year, Mama June a.k.a. June Shannon, who recently lost custody of Honey Boo Boo, commented on her daughter's relationship with Dralin. "They've been together over a year. He's good. He needs to hold down a job a little bit more," she dished to Entertainment Tonight, "I mean, he's not bad. He doesn't treat her bad or anything like that."
She wasn't bothered by the age gap between Honey Boo Boo and her boyfriend, who was 20 years old at the time, as she stated, "They're [young] and they've been together over a year. So, if they last? Fine. If they don't, it can be her first love."
