AceShowbiz - N.O.R.E a.k.a. Noreaga is getting things off his chest. The "Drink Champs" co-host unleashed a series of tweets on Wednesday night, May 25 to question why rap artists treat hosts like Ellen DeGeneres and David Letterman with "more respect" than the culture.
"I have been the best to this culture I have always put hiphop first," the 44-year-old New York rapper first penned. "And I see u guys go to Ellen and David letterman's and [Zane Lowe] and treat them wit more respect then the culture but u say u want black excellence."
"Imma be honest even going to [Oprah Winfrey] or gal is trash at this point !!! We control our in culture why go outside of it!!!" Noreaga went on arguing. "David letterman is my favorite but man why go there or Ellen before million dollars worth of game or joe or the champs or even twitter s**t!!!"
It was unclear what prompted Noreaga's mini-rant. However, fans assumed it was Cardi B's recent appearance on "My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman". Others, on the other hand, believe the message was for Jay-Z.
Noreaga's posts kind of backfired, though. Some Twitter users pointed out why those artists acted that way in mainstream interviews. "You want respect and care so much about black excellence but you a walking contradiction," one user opined.
"You don't even show any respect so who how could you expect to receive it? It's time to stop deflecting and take accountability like cut the bull you not dumb. Practice what you preach," the said individual continued. Another chimed in, "I hear you but not everyone wants to go up there and be asked dumb ass questions like 'Do you eat a**?' I exited the Tank episode at that very moment."
