The writer and executive producer says that she is 'sad' seeing people asking her to make an episode to highlight the incident following the horrific school shooting in Texas.

AceShowbiz - Quinta Brunson is making it clear that "Abbott Elementary" will not feature a school shooting storyline in a future episode. The writer and the executive producer of the ABC comedy took to social media to respond to fans' "wild" requests.

"Wild how many people have asked for a school shooting episode of the show I write," the 32-year-old writer/producer tweeted on Wednesday, May 25. She continued, "People are that deeply removed from demanding more from the politicians they've elected and are instead demanding 'entertainment.' I can't ask 'are yall ok' anymore because the answer is 'no.' "

Quinta went on saying, "Please use that energy to ask your elected official to get on Beto time and nothing less. I'm begging you." She later insisted that she doesn't want "to sound mean" but she wants "people to understand the flaw in asking for something like this." She further pointed out, "We're not okay. this country is rotting our brains. im sad about it."

In a following tweet, Quinta shared a screenshot of an Instagram DM from an "Abbott Elementary" fan. The message read, "This is just an idea. For the eventual series finale, a school shooting episode to highlight the numerous ones in this nation. Formulate an angle that would get our government to understand why laws need to pass. I think Abbott Elementary can affect change. I love the show."

"Abbott Elementary" follows a group of dedicated, passionate teachers, and a slightly tone-deaf principal, who are brought together in a Philadelphia public school where, despite the odds stacked against them, they are determined to help their students succeed in life. Although these incredible public servants may be outnumbered and underfunded, they love what they do, even if they don't love the school district's less-than-stellar attitude toward educating children.

The shooting in Uvalde, Texas occurred on Tuesday, May 24. Following the incident, at least 19 children and three adults at Robb Elementary School were killed by an 18-year-old mass shooter.
