In a deposition played during trial for Johnny's defamation case against Amber Heard, the 68-year-old actress claims that her former flame had 'demanding' and 'controlling' behavior during their time together in the '90s.

AceShowbiz - Ellen Barkin testified against her former fling Johnny Depp at the trial for the ongoing legal battle between the actor and ex-wife Amber Heard. On Thursday, May 19, video from Ellen's deposition, which was filmed in November 2019, was played inside a Virginia courtroom.

The footage saw the 68-year-old actress claiming that her former flame, who starred alongside her in 1998's "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas", showcased "demanding" and "controlling" behavior during their time together in the '90s. Elle shared that they escalated their "purely platonic" friendship to a "sexual" one in 1994 when she moved to Hollywood.

The then-couple saw each other three to four times a week for "several months," Ellen alleged. "He was just a jealous man," Ellen testified, adding that the "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" actor would ask her, "Where are you going? Who are you going with? What did you do last night?"

She then recalled one night where Johnny got "very, very angry" over a scratch on her back. The "Pirates of the Carribean" actor allegedly "insisted it came from me having sex with a person who wasn't him." The "Animal Kingdom" actress said that it was "very common" for Johnny to get jealous.

The deposition also featured Ellen claiming that Johnny threw a wine bottle in her direction once. The incident, which occurred when they were hanging out at his Las Vegas hotel room during filming for their movie, happened as "a fight was going on" between the actor and someone else in the room. She said, "I don't know why he threw the bottle."

According to "The New Normal" alum, Johnny was the one who broke things off between the two. He allegedly told her that it was a "big goodbye" and Ellen "never heard from him again after that."

Back in 2020, Johnny told a London court that he did have a fling with Ellen. However, he denied the allegation that he threw a bottle of wine at her. The actor believed that Ellen made the claims because she held grudge against him for breaking things up with her.

According to Johnny, the "Switch" actress "wanted a proper relationship with me and I did not want that. I didn't feel the same about her as she did me and I suppose from that moment on she became very, very angry and since then I have not spoken to Ms. Barkin." Johnny also called Ellen's claims "untrue," insisting, "I do not have an anger management problem."
