A few days before contracting the coronavirus, the comedienne joked about not having had it during an interview with Seth Meyers, saying, 'I'm kinda smug about it.'

AceShowbiz - Amy Schumer has become the latest famous figure who caught COVID-19. The comedienne was forced to cancel her performance at the Netflix comedy festival in Los Angeles after testing positive for the virus.

A few hours before she was set to take the "Netflix Is a Joke" stage on Saturday night, May 7, the 40-year-old star took to her Instagram page to share the news. "I am sad to say I have to cancel my show in LA tonight," she said. "I am the first woman to ever get COVID. I tested positive for COVID-19 about an hour ago, so yeah, please, I don't know what to say, but at least my hair looks good."

After making the announcement, Amy posted a video on her Instagram feed, making light of the situation. "What should I watch," she captioned the video, "I was the star of the dropout. I can't take the paxlovid because im on lexipro right?" She also playfully added a hashtag that read, "#covidpioneer."

"I guess I'm going to post a little bit because I'm lonely, but really what I want to say was that Covid has given me this incredible Elizabeth Holmes voice," Amy told her fans in the short clip. "This is what I sound like now that I have COVID. Theranos. Theranos," she said while mimicking the disgraced entrepreneur's voice.

Amy went on to note that she's glad that she was away from home, so that her husband Chris Fischer and their 3-year-old son Gene aren't exposed to the virus because of her. However, the "Life & Beth" star pointed out that quarantine left her feeling "lonely" and "bored."

"Anyway, I'm just lonely," Amy stressed. "And bored. I'm away from my family, which is great because they won't get it, I hope. Even though are we all going to get it? Anyway, mostly this is just because I wanted to share my Elizabeth Holmes voice what should I watch?"

During her performance at Netflix comedy show on Friday, May 6, Amy shared jokes that didn't make the cut at the Oscars. " 'Don't Look Up' is the name of a movie? More like don't look down the barrel of Alec Baldwin's shotgun," she said. "I wasn't allowed to say any of that [at the Oscars], but you can just come up and [slap] someone."

Amy also said that she planned to use some of Oscar-nominated works to describe sex with her husband. "I don't know why they said no," she told the audience. "So my husband was going down on me… or as he calls it, 'Squid Game'," she shared. "So… he's in my 'Nightmare Alley', my 'House of Gucci', and I say 'C'mon C'mon', you know? He goes 'tick, tick… BOOM!' He 'Belfast'. I say, 'Get off my 'Dune' '! And that's how our son was born."

A few days earlier, Amy joked about not having had the virus during the "Late Night With Seth Meyers" interview. "I'm kinda smug about it. I haven't had it yet. He's looking out," she teased at the time while pointing towards the sky.
