AceShowbiz - A$AP Rocky apparently takes aim at Chris Brown in his new song titled "D.M.B.". The 33-year-old rapper called out the "Under the Influence" singer for beating his ex-girlfriend Rihanna back in February 2009.
In the new track, Rocky gushes over his lady with RiRi starring in the music video for the song. At one point in the song, Rocky raps, "I don't beat my b***h, I need my b***h."
Fans believed that Rocky was shading Breezy with the lyrics. For those who need a reminder, the R&B singer was famously arrested and pleaded guilty to felony assault after attacking the "Umbrella" hitmaker when they were an item. Brown was later sentenced to community service and mandatory anger management classes. He was also given a probation and a restraining order against Rihanna.
Despite the assault, Rihanna and Brown got back together for several years. The pair eventually split for good in 2013.
The shade aside, "D.M.B." music video sees Rocky and Rihanna getting married. Towards the end of the music video, the 33-year-old rapper proposes to the Fenty cosmetics founder, who is not pregnant in any of the scenes. As the couple walks together after exchanging vows, a group of people can be seen throwing flower petals at the couple.
The music video sparked debate among fans as they questioned whether it was an artistic expression or an art imitating life. A source, however, revealed that the two musicians are not married in real life. Much to everyone's dismay, the informant claimed that the pair were just having fun with the visuals.
Rihanna is currently pregnant with her first child with the "Praise the Lord" rhymer, who was previously arrested for his alleged involvement in a 2021 shooting. Despite the legal trouble, the expecting couple proceeded to host a rave-themed baby shower days after the rapper's arrest.
The couple allegedly decided to proceed with the baby shower because they felt it was important to surround themselves with family and close friends. "They flew out some family and friends from Barbados," a source said. "Rihanna didn't want a shower for just the ladies, they're in this together, it was always going to be a joint celebration."
