AceShowbiz - Wiz Khalifa revealed the reason why he didn't attend the 2022 Met Gala. The "See You Again" hitmaker claimed in a Twitter post that he wasn't invited to the annual event because its officals "were scared" of him smoking on the red carpet.
"They were scared of me smoking on the red carpet or at the event so no met gala," the 34-year-old emcee, real name Cameron Jibril Thomaz, penned on Monday, May 2. "I don't blame em but weed is legal dude, sheesh."
Wiz's revelation, unfortunately, backfired. Some Internet users called him out, with one writing, "It's not that serious to smoke everywhere you go....that childish." Another argued, "Can't take a couple of hours to not smoke huh."
The criticism didn't stop there. More came forward with one user commenting, "unpopular opinion not everyone wants to breathe marijuana air there is a place and a time if u can't do it before or after the event than u gotta a bigger issue." Someone else penned, "Just cuz it is legal doesn't mean you gotta smoke it everywhere you go..."
Met Gala aside, Wiz recently told his Twitter followers about his romantic preferences. "I like being bossed around by chicks for some reason," he confessed.
The "Black and Yellow" spitter was previously married to Amber Rose from 2013 to 2016. Together, they share 9-year-old son Sebastian Taylor Thomaz. The model filed for divorce in September 2014 due to irreconcilable differences.
"Wiz and I are family and we will be family for the rest of our lives for Sebastian," she explained in a now-deleted 2017 Instagram post. "We've been through hell and back so a kiss on the lips for a photo and a night out of fun is not a big deal for either of us, we are in a great place but we are very much still divorced and not together."
