AceShowbiz - Alex Rodriguez became the butt of a joke after his ex-fiance Jennifer Lopez confirmed her engagement to Ben Affleck. On Sunday, April 10, Alex was trolled by ESPN 2 sports broadcaster Michael Kay when he joined the latter to oversee "Sunday Night Baseball".

While discussing the Yankees vs. Red Sox game, Michael joked, "It's a great time in sports. You have a new Masters champion, NBA playoffs are about to start, baseball is in full swing, people getting engaged. I mean, it's a happy time in the world." Things quickly took an awkward moment.

In response to the trolling, the former baseball player let out an awkward laugh. "Happiness and world peace is what we're looking for," he said. The 46-year-old later sat in silence for a few seconds before changing the subject back to the game.

Jennifer confirmed that she's engaged to Ben for the second time on April 8. She shared a short video via her fan newsletter, On the JLo. In the sweet clip, the star could be seen staring tearfully and adoringly at a gorgeous green-hued diamond ring. "You're perfect," she said in a voiceover as romantic music played in the background.

Before breaking the happy news, the "Hustle" actress teased on her social media platforms that she has a "major announcement" to make. "So I have a really exciting and special story to share," the "On the Floor" hitmaker, who had sparked engagement rumors days prior, said with a sweet laugh in the clip.

Before rekindled her romance with the "Gone Girl" actor, Jennifer was engaged to Alex. The two, however, called it quits in April 2021.

"We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so. We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects. We wish the best for each other and one another's children," the pair said in a joint statement at the time. "Out of respect for them, the only other comment we have is to say is thank you to everyone who has sent kind words and support."
