On 'The Drew Barrymore Show', the host asks the 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' star, who initially didn't have any idea about the abuse, how to face such a hard situation.

AceShowbiz - Paris Hilton and her mom Kathy Hilton got vulnerable in a new episode of "The Drew Barrymore Show". In the new outing, the pair discussed Paris' documentary which highlighted the alleged abuse that she experienced at boarding school as a teenager.

In 2020's "This Is Paris", the hotel heiress claimed that she was physically, mentally and emotionally abused at Provo Canyon School in Utah. On the talk show, host Drew Barrymore asked Kathy, who initially didn't have any idea about the abuse, how to face such a hard situation.

"We don't get a pamphlet. Everybody tries to do the best they can and I am so proud of her and, can you imaging not knowing and her holding that in? All that time," said "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star. "It's been a roller coaster emotionally for me and this is not about me, this is all about Paris. Even a week ago, I started crying."

Kathy added that she looks at her daughter "in a different way" now. "I look at her now and I just see this, yes, she's beautiful, but inside there's pain. And it breaks my heart," she shared.

The mother-and-daughter duo later got choked up while recalling the emotional moment. They also comforted each other in a loving embrace.

Kathy went on to say that she used to downplay Paris' complaint when she told her that she "hated" boarding school back then. "I'd say, 'Paris, you were naughty, you didn't listen, I had to get you out of New York and I don't wanna hear it!' And then to find this out," said Kathy. "I will kill for my children. You wanna fool with my kids? Let me tell you."

Paris first stopped by Drew's show to talk about the documentary back in 2020. At the time, the host shared her own similar experience when she was a child. ""I've had the people come and take me away," she said at the time.

"I've been locked up in solitary confinement. I've been in a place for lengthy periods of time -- we are talking year, year and a half plus -- I haven't seen a kind of story like this really reflected out there very often that's one I recognize so deeply," she added.

"I didn't like being thrown in solitary confinement. I will say that I was very rebellious. I started riots there all the time and there was a lot of other kids like me, and my mom just didn't know what to do with me," she continued.

She went on to say, "You know, I was doing drugs. I was out of control. She just threw her hands up and threw me in there not knowing where else to turn to, and that place really did help me, and saved my life and I actually wouldn't change a thing."
