The 'Cosby Show' alum and the 'Aquaman' star, who had been married for almost 5 years, broke the news of their separation in a joint statement on Jason's Instagram page on January 12.

AceShowbiz - Lisa Bonet is embracing "uncertainty" ahead of her split from Jason Momoa. "The Cosby Show" alum talked about going into a new chapter in an in-depth interview with close friend Marissa Tomei for Interview Magazine back in late December.

During the sit-down, the 54-year-old discussed her career and life. When asked about "what's calling" her at that moment in time, the mother of Zoe Kravitz said, "Definitely learning how to be authentically me, learning to be new, and following this invitation from the universe to step into this river of uncertainty."

The "A Different World" alum went on to note, "We've eliminated all this extra noise, and now it's time to grow our roots deeper into our own values." The remarks were in line with what she and Jason shared in their joint statement while announcing their split on January 12.

"We have all felt the squeeze and changes of these transformational times," the exes said in the statement, which was shared on the "Game of Thrones" alum's Instagram page. "A revolution is unfolding and our family is of no exception… feeling and growing from the seismic shifts occurring."

"And so We share our Family news that we are parting ways in marriage. We share this not because we think it's newsworthy but so that as we go about our lives we may do so with dignity and honesty," the pair, who had been married for nearly 5 years and together for more than a decade, went on to explain. "The love between us carries on, evolving in ways it wishes to be known and lived. We free each other to be who we are learning to become."

Concluding the statement, the now-former couple assured that their "devotion unwavering to this sacred life our children. Teaching our children what's possible. Living the Prayer. May Love Prevail. J & L."

Jason and Lisa started dating in 2005 after being introduced by mutual friends at a jazz club. The pair welcomed their first child Lola in July 2007, while their second child Nakoa-Wolf was born in December 2008. They later tied the knot in October 2017, though it was initially believed that they wed in November 2007.
