AceShowbiz - Jake Gyllenhaal has seemingly given his response to all the drama dragging him following the release of Taylor Swift's 10-minute version of "All Too Well (Taylor's Version)". After many speculated that the lyrics are a jab at the actor, he has now appeared to clap back at the backlash from Taylor's fans.
The "Spider-Man: Far From Home" star has posed for a W Magazine feature which seems to reference his former girlfriend's "Red" album. In one portrait taken by photographer Tim Walker released on Wednesday, January 12, he wore a crimson button-down shirt with matching heart-shaped sunglasses.
According to InStyle, when W posted the photo on its Instagram page, the initial caption read, "Red (Jake's Version)." As many have noticed, Taylor wore similar-looking frames in her "22" music video from her "Red" era. Needless to say, the image and the caption have drawn reactions from social media users and Swifties in particular.
"whoever wrote that caption deserves a raise," one Instagram user wrote under W Magazine's post. Another quipped, "the person in charge of your socials has been waiting all day to post with this caption."
Meanwhile, a Taylor fan warned Jake, "Red Shirt, The 22 music video sunglasses!! Jake and Tim Walker woke up and chose violence." Another was seemingly in disbelief as asking, "is he feeling 22???" Someone wrote while comparing Jake's photo to Taylor's cover, "Jake Gyllenhaal is really in his Red era, huh? What's going on here."
Jake was rumored to be romantically linked to Taylor in 2010. Many speculated that some of her songs in 2012's "Red" were about the fallout from their relationship. Thus, when the pop superstar released an extended version of "All Too Well" off the album with new lyrics, people started bashing the 41-year-old actor again.
The "Nightcrawler" star has been largely quiet despite all the backlash against him. "Jake has no interest in any of it," a source told E! News last year. "He doesn't read gossip or pay any attention to that ... He's living his life and focused on himself. He's ignoring all of the noise."
It remains to be seen if Jake did intentionally troll Taylor's "Red" album and if so, why now.
